I've used a LAMP stack throughout all of my development, but with the ever increasing need for immediate and transparent scaling combined with the adoption of services like Amazon EC2, I'm wondering if the successor to LAMP is some sort of Erlang+CouchDB based stack packaged in neat downloadable virtual machines meant to be run "in the cloud." I also have (illusions|delusions) of grandeur about finding the time to build an application completely in javascript and couchDB just to break outside of the LAMP mold Hah, I can relate to your fourth bullet point.
